The Big Boom was a starship discovered in the Mez'Dora Corridor by Balzak's Fleet. Its builders are unknown, and it was left abandoned in good condition for unknown reasons. The ship is small but powerful, having absurdly high shield strength and powerful lasers. However, once the shields are down, its hull strength is very low, probably due to the ship's small size.
The ship's control room was also small, probably the bare minimum size possible, allowing the rest of the ship's space to be used for shield generators, lasers, and engines. As such, it's the size of a small bathroom -- and does incorporate a toilet and shower (but no bed). (Balzak Globotron Series: "Balzak Globotron")
At some point, the ship appeared being pursued and fired on by another ship of alien origin. The Big Boom tried to escape, and ultimately succeeded due to Gron-Fresnell interfering by separating the pursuing ship from its engines & hiding the ship in its mouth. After that, the Big Boom searched for the other ship, hoping to attack it. The ship, hiding in the moon's mouth, launched a flaming Roclus past the Big Boom, distracting it. A model rocket of the ship, with working (remote controlled) laser cannon, was available for sale in Mercado. ("Paper Computer Game Mercado")
Trivia[]
- The Big Boom ship is originally from The Big Boom movie franchise, created by ZCCA, a film company with many of the same mambers as the PCG creators. The model used in that film for the ship was actually made from a dixie cup, a toothpick, and chopped up paper plates.
