Bob is the only name given to a strange, shape shifting, small alien creature who never talks, though he understands spoken language. His ‘true’ form appears as a small, green creature with a rounded base supported by many little bug-like legs with one stalk-eye emerging from the top. Another common form that he takes is a four-armed, four-legged stick figure.
Bob is a crewmember aboard the legendary starship Taburnackle which Balzak Globotron came to command. He sits on a platform hung on chains on the bridge, and is able to control certain aspects of the ship. But what he actually controls is a mystery.
History[]
As he never talks, Bob has never communicated his origin and it hasn’t appeared in our records. When the crew of the ship came into possession of it, Bob came with the ship. He was happy to work with the crew, although he wouldn’t or couldn’t communicate this to them. (Balzak Globotron Series: "Balzak Globotron")
Neutron Star[]
When Balzak's Fleet arrived in the Neutron Star system, Bob immediately plotted a course to slingshot past the star. Not understanding his plan, Chanai attempted to counteract the plan. This brought them into mortal danger, however, as the spinning neutron star's beam threatened to destroy the ship if the timing wasn't just right.
When the neutron star's temporal distortions caused the ship to travel back in time, the crew found a space station in the past with indentations similar to Bob's feet. This lead Balzak to suspect that Bob's race may have built the station (and the Taburnackle as well, due to the station's ability to interface with the ship), though Matak Rho' Shivej refused to believe this. Bob proved essential to mastering the station's time travel systems. (Balzak Globotron Series: "Balzak Globotron")
Szan'Xi[]
During the fleet's battle with a massive Alliance fleet, when the battle looked grim, Bob began drawing power to an unknown system. Matak tried to stop it, until Bob spoke for the first time, saying "Trust me, Balzak Globotron". Balzak acceded, and Bob activated a previously unknown weapon on the Taburnackle, drawing most of the ship's energy but destroying scores of enemy ships in the process. After this event, Bob returned to not speaking, innocently minding his own business. (Balzak Globotron Series: "Balzak Globotron")
