Charles Mystery Stories is the name given to the series of Mystery paper computer games starring the character of Charles, the detective.

Main Characters[]
- Charles, the Detective, the main character of the series. He's a wealthy, brittish-accented, pipe-smoking and hat-wearing individual, who'll cooly survey the situation until he's solved the mystery.
- Pen, seemingly an ordinary Pen, this Pen is actually a sentient creature and an excessively intelligent and knowledgeable ally. Unfortunately, he only speaks the Spanish language, which Charles doesn't understand.
Suspects[]
- Alexander, Geoffrey's maniacal butler who's been planning his murder for years.
- The Company, an evil corporation who wants to eliminate competition from UBPE.
- The Fat Guy, an enormously fat guy. Works for The Company.
- U.B.P.E., an evil organization competing with The Company.
- Xanderia, An intelligent blonde woman, who's working for the U.B.P.E. (United Buncha People who're Evil).
- Xandria, her less intelligent and valleygirlish sister, also working for UBPE.

The Series[]
- The Mansion of Mystery was the original Charles mystery. Charles, having recently travelled to Europe to visit his uncle Geoffrey, has witnessed his uncle's murder. He must now explore the old mansion to find the culprit.
- MaNiPuLaTioN : Not really part of this series, per se; But Charles appeared in one screen and was killed by the main characters, Kundabar the Elf and Doomsday.
- Welcome to Death Ward Hospital followed the events of MaNiPuLaTioN; The main character, having lost his memories (Could it be a revived Charles?) finds himself in a mysterious hospital, filled with hostile creatures and some suspects from the Mansion of Mystery.
- Chateau de Mystere (by Magic Paper Productions) - an upcoming game that is a direct sequel to the original game, The Mansion of Mystery.
- Under Death Ward Hospital: Charles investigates the sketchy sewers under Death Ward Hospital. What he finds out is truly shocking.
- The Dark City Mystery by Epic Worlds PCG: Charles investigates a series of murders in New York.

Themes[]
Throughout the Charles Mystery Stories series, a continuing theme is corporate greed, especially in the first game, as evidenced by the actions of the U.B.P.E.
Additionally, each game in the series ends with a "whodunit?" screen, in which all the suspects for that game are assembled and Charles must point to the correct culprit.
