The Diz Catastrophe was a catastrophic event in the history of Soluna. It changed the city of Diz into Babel, left Soluna scarred physically, economically and emotionally by a gaping crater where the prosperous city used to be. The event also lead to the city's exile into the PCG Universe.

The event[]

Diz was a prison city in Antho's Wing of E'dan, Soluna. Modestus sought to revive the "Ancient Ones" and to gain power for himself. To this end, he concocted, and ultimately enacted, a plan. This plan blasted the city out of space and time. (Soul Symphony: "Exile", "Prequel"; RPG: "Soluna")

Fallout & Influence[]

Soluna[]

Main article: "History" on our sister wiki, the Soluna wiki.

A crater was left where Diz used to be. The loss of the city would profoundly affect E'Dan's society for decades to come. (RPG: "Soluna")

As Diz had gone back to the beginning of time, (even though it was gone from the universe), its influence seeped through the barrier between worlds and became a legend, known as the city of Babel. Thus, Babel was a legend on Soluna even before Diz was destroyed. (Chronicles Addendum)

PCG Universe[]

Diz, now known as Babel, was removed from Soluna. It next appeared in the PCG Universe near the beginning of time, in a barren desert on Earth, a world whose geography closely resembles that of Soluna. Castitas wandered there after being expelled from a garden paradise. (Soul Symphony: "Exile")

A new Umbrian called Adam came into being and, not realizing what he was, began to explore the tower where he found himself: the Basilica of Heaven. (Soul Symphony: "Genesis")

After he worked his way out of the tower, Adam explored Babel to discover the Umbrian senators of the city. He overcame most of them, only to meet Modestus and to be tricked by him into defeating Saluna. Modestus then revealed his true plan and sent Adam back to Soluna. (Soul Symphony: "Exile")

Modestus now had total control of this world. What happened next is not known. (Chronicles Addendum)
