Daisy drifted carelessly through the endless rows of gorgeous carnations and poppies. She didn’t have a care in the world. Here in the country it was peaceful and serene–Daisy liked it this way. Back in the smelly city, there was traffic and smoke. She liked the simple things. The way the bees milled about from flower to flower collecting the desired pollen. The apples that fell from the trees and landed in a soft blanket of grass. The butterflies that flew by, their wings a collection of stunning patterns. The flowers provided a sweet smell, as well as the occasional berry bush.
She leaned over and picked up a juicy purple rhodoberry. It burst in her mouth, and a fantastic sensation flooded her senses. She sighed peacefully and collapsed on the ground, under the cool shade of a lythal tree. A soft breeze brushed across her body. Sapped trickled slowly down the tree. A small bumble bee buzzed by, always busy. The life of a cricket wasn’t always easy, but it was nice to enjoy the simple things in life.
