Ian was a Pokémon trainer living in the Pokémon Universe. He was proficient at battles and had traveled with Elise in the past.
History[]
Ian visited the region where the Robot Path was located, where he met Gash Ketchum. The two battled, and Gash won. ("Pokémon Stop")
A different Ian encountered Gash in the Dream World, where they were both invited to a tournament. Ian didn't remember Gash, and suggested that the Ian encountered by Gash before must have been an alternate universe version. When they battled, Gash beat him once again with his violent Pokemon such as Ape-Ball. This lead Ian to rebuke him, saying that Gash shouldn't be a trainer since his Pokemon want to kill.
