Paper Computer Games

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis was a PC computer game. The game was a graphic adventure, or point-and-click game, and its style of inventory- and dialogue-based puzzles, not to mention its spirit of adventure, made this game one of the primary inspirations for the Paper Computer Game franchise in general.

The game was later directly adapted into a PCG by Xaq.

PCG Adaptation[]

The PCG was part of Xaq's first series, and tried to follow the story of the computer game as closely as possible; in some cases, screen-for-screen. The game was never finished and made it only a short way into the story. Nonetheless, those few screens were played.

Legacy[]

This game inspired another Indiana Jones based PCG in Xaq's first series, for his grandmother. Few details of that game have survived.

It was also largely the direct inspiration for the Series 1 game "Atlantis Quest", the inspiration for the Nazis in the game, including many direct scenes with them like the Nazi Sub scene in "Relics of the Sea". The idea for the Inventory Screen with graphical representations of items probably comes from this game as well.

The lava-based imagery seen in Atlantis inspired The Forge in "Fried Calamari", as well as many other aspects of that game.

In the PC game The Giant Purple Mountain Man vs The Artist Formerly Known As The Nazi Machine, which is a subgame within PCG Anniversary Special Part II, the fight theme from Fate of Atlantis is used; the battle mechanics also seem inspired by those in Fate of Atlantis.
