Kidd Funkadelic Jr. was a strange being comprised of a sentient piece of broccoli with a crane dangling from his crown.

History[]

His adventure started with a dream that he was in Pallet Town, the opening location in the video game "Pokemon", but then encountered an Ape-Ball. Realizing "there are no ape-balls in Pokemon", he woke up. The rest of his adventure has yet to be revealed. ("The Adventures of Kidd Funkadelic, Jr.")

He appeared again in the Pokémon Universe, though it's not clear if it's the same version of him. Funkadelic Jr. warned Gash Ketchum that "none of this is real", that it's all a dream. He then Pokémon battled him; his only Pokémon was Ape-Ball. Once he lost, he desperately tried to get Gash to believe him. He then faded away. ("Pokémon Stop")

He appeared in the Dream World, where Gash and a number of other Pokémon trainers were trapped due to the actions of the Mirage Master. Once again he attacked Gash, this time while Gash was fighting his way past zombies, using the same Ape-Ball. He said the same things as before. Gash uses an Ewok to defeat it. (Pokémon Tales prose: "Crisis in the Dream World")

Trivia[]

  • Funkadelic Jr.'s inclusion in "Pokémon Stop" is a nod to the fact that, like Hat Kid, he's an early PCG character to be involved with Pokémon.
