Minecraft Attack of the Gold was a 2022 PCG by Yak Games following the journey of a sentient gold ingot from the gold ingot tribe living in the cave walls. The game was played by Xaq on stream for the PCG Jam Summer 2022.

History

In ancient times, the gold tribe was at the top of the Minecraft food chain and ruled the Overworld. The golden ingots had devised a recipe for a golden golem that would keep them in power for years to come.

This all changed when the Minecraft players overthrew the rule of the gold ingots many centuries ago. Since then, the gold tribe has been reduced to a small number of ingots that reside inside cave walls and occasionally emerge to hunt for resources. The recipe for the golden golem was lost to time, and the gold tribe has since then studied the ancient cave writings in the hopes of deciphering the instructions to build one.
