Navi was a fairy, and Link's companion in the world of Hyrule.
History[]
At one point, she followed Dark Link, mistakenly believing he was the real Link. But the real Link knocked her out without harming her, as a way to defeat Dark Link. The fact that he showed mercy to Navi was proof to the Deku Tree that he was the true Link. (The Legend of Zelda - "Zelda Game")
One day, she began feeling something was wrong, a feeling which lasted for days. She went deep into the woods to find out what was wrong, and entered the Old Hollow - a meeting ground for Fairies. There, she saw a strange black oil, and her friend Grendl the fairy getting sucked into it, surrounded by strange creatures. She plugged the hole but got a vision of a Tutorial Bot, a Fig, and "something else". (The Legend of Zelda - "Dark Triforce: Bleed")
Navi leads a group of heroes on Hyrule to stop the evil darkness of The Arcmage. They end up sucseeding and save Hyrule. (The Zooforce by Epic Worlds PCG)
