Save Game DNA is a term applied to a unique gene that can exist in any species. Its origin is unknown. However, it seems to be the cause (or one of the causes) of the ability to Save Game.
Little is known about this remarkable gene. Dr. Xhomp Qlu has been doing extensive experimentation with the gene, developing it to its limits. It seems that some forms of the gene allow for different extents of game saving ability. For example, some people may be able to save game only when they die, while others can save at any point. Some can save game to any point in their past that they've been to, while others can only save to moments before they die. (Space-Balls Series: "Dino's Quest")
Additionally, it is known that save game ability can be simulated artificially, by Robots for example. The Collector was able to counteract Liit's save game ability. (Space-Balls Series: "Space-Balls")
