The Sentinel, also known as the Stone Guardian, was a tall, powerful, possibly mechanical monster, whose sole purpose seemed to be to guard a passageway inside a pyramid.
When he encountered Xaq, he attempted to block the adventurer's way; However, Xaq convinced him that there was a world outside of the pyramid, and that it was worth seeing. Stunned by this incredible information, the beast willingly relinquished his post to go outside, on the condition that a stick be left there to guard in his place.
Later, when Xaq had acquired Ginkus' staff, and was flying across the desert, he saw the Sentinel trudging after him. ("Ginkus' Gift")
