Thraxin is an ancient world with a long history. The planet is located in the Inner Reaches of the PCG Universe, more specifically, the Kolveron Sector. The world was once divided into 3 nations: The Trollites, the Pergrines, and the Neomen. The Trollites started losing their magic and dying out. The final Trollite gave birth to a new species called Elves, who inhabited the same forest. The species called Pergrines were bird men, and lived on the tallest peak in all of Thraxin, but are rarely seen by the naked eye.
The planet has two continents, one being made up of volcanic rock, making it not habitable to human life. The second, called Mat'hu, is the home of all life on the planet.
Only two major wars have been fought on the planet: The Elvin War, and that has since died out, with no clear victor, though many smaller wars have started between the Neomen and the Pergrines, and the Coastal War, between the Neomen, and the Seamen. The Neomen won this war due to powerful leadership.
History[]
Ancient Times[]
Besides the Neomen, the inhabitants of Thraxin were very separate and never interfered with each other, except for trade. The three largest species were divided, with the Trollites living in the forest of Sylvania, the Neomen living in the plains beside Lake Mammoth, and the Pergrines living in the Amulet Mountains, with nests so high up, that they could not be reached by any other species.
Over time, nations began to die out, with not enough food and water. The lakes and rivers began to die out, and many subspecies of the Trollites migrated to the ocean-side, resulting in their deaths, because Trollites must live in the forest where their magic can flourish. The Trollites lived in stone temples all over Sylvania, rarely travelling except for trade between factions.
The Trollites were the first to die out--all except for one female. She gave birth to a new species of Trollites called Elves. They became known as the Forest Elves and were very mischievous. They were divided into three subspecies: the Pixies, the Gnomes, and the Imps--the Imps being the most common. The Pixies were usually royalty and lived on the forest roof, rarely coming down to the ground for any reason. The Gnomes lived on wooden platforms halfway up the tall trees, and were very sociable. The Imps lived in houses dug out of the roots of the trees, and were what any traveller to Elvin Haven would see first. They were carefree--and careless. They caused many a squabble because of their mischievous mannerisms.
In ancient times, the Pergrines flourished. They very often raided smaller villages at the base of the Amulet Mountains, stealing supplies and anything else they could get their talons on. They were an unstoppable force. That changed when the king of the Pergrines, Otku'ma, died of a terrible disease. There was chaos in the Pergrine nation for over a month. Many Pergrine left, some broke off into factions, and still others attempted to become the new king. Otku'ma had no sons, and there was no Pergrine left with royal blood. As a result of no leadership, the Pergrines also became weaker, and withdrew completely from everything, ceasing their village raids, and remaining hidden in The Nest.
The Neomen were the only species that were spread across the whole continent of Mat'hu, and set up important highways and trade routes. They thrived for the longest time, though many of their villages were raided by Pergrines. The king of the Neomen, Zandorf, was a strong leader and lead the Neomen to many victories over a warring faction of Neomen who lived on the coast. King Zandorf was also somehow related to the Trollites and had magic flowing through his veins. He was 751 years old when he finally died. He had three sons, who, for a time, fought for control of the throne. The son who finally won was Medra, who led the Neomen into a Golden Age, which lasted a couple centuries. It wasn't until the Elvin War that the Neomen all began moving back to Rio Village to help in the war effort. Some, who did not want to be part of the war, created a city called The Refuge, where Neomen and Elves alike lived in peace.
The Crater Men were a group of primitive nomad Neomen who occupied the crash site of a satellite sent into space by King Zandorf of Rio Village. The Crater Men built a thriving civilization on the crater in which the satellite created.
The Sea Men were another faction of the Neomen who lived on the coast. They were very vicious and bloodthirsty and battled the Neomen many times in hopes of gaining more land.
The Cave-Dwellers were the Neomen who lived at the foot of the Amulet Mountains of old--that is, until the Pergrines attacked them. The survivors fled under the mountains and lived in the cave systems deep under the peaks.
Wars[]
The Pergrine Raids[]
The Neomen were tired of the Pergrines burning and looting their villages at the foot of the Amulet Mountains. So they decided to revolt. It was a quick battle, fought on mountain peaks and frosty plains. The Pergrines easily won because they had wings and sharp spears, though soon after, their king died, and they withdrew their attacks. After the results of the battle, many Neomen moved back to Rio Village, and almost all trade with the Neomen of Amulet Mountain ceased. Most Neomen that remained there lived in caves in the mountains, and took the name Cave-Dwellers, or Cavemen.
The Coastal War[]
This was the war that happened between the Neomen of Rio Village and the vicious Seamen--a faction of the Neomen--of the coast. The war began because the Seamen wanted more land, and the Neomen were the first to get in their way. The war happened for about twelve years, with many small skirmishes happening on the beach and even in Rio Village itself. The Neomen finally got the victory in a brutal battle on Lake Mammoth. The Seamen's ships were powerful, but the Neomen's leader, King Zandorf, had magic, which tipped the scaled in favor of the Neomen. After the war ended, the Seamen returned to their coastal home, and continued to steal from the Neomen when they could, but mainly fought between themselves, because it was their nature.
The Elvin War[]
The Forest Elves had been crossing the river that divided them from the Neomen and stealing supplies from Rio Village for too long. King Medra decided to step in and raise an army to stop them. The war that followed was more brutal than imaginable, and both sides had over a ten thousand casualties. The war never reached a conclusion, as both sides were equally matched. When the Neomen, attempted to take the Celeshroom Valley, an important battle took place there, in which the Neomen ambushed the Forest Elves and won important land for the Neomen. The Forest Elves began to retreat more often and the battles too often ended in a retreat or a draw. Both sides had lost so many men and were tired of war. There was a time where there was finally more peace for the Forest Elves and the Neomen.
Zandorf's Era[]
This was a time when Neomen began evolving and making advancements in the medical fields and even began designing their first space ships--as primitive as they were. Education had never been better for the Neomen of Rio Village, and King Zandorf led the Neomen to many victories over the Seamen.
The Neomen were the first nation to send their first satellite into space, though it came crashing back down and landed somewhere on the southern lands of Mat'hu.
Medra's Era[]
After the death of King Zandorf, three sons battled for the control of the throne. Polliver, Medra, and Galheim. The three battled for only a short time until Medra finally won. Polliver was killed during the battles and Galheim left the city, swearing to one day get revenge on Medra. Galheim traveled as a nomad for many years until he reached a spot where he built The Refuge, a place where people could be free from the Elvin War--or so he said. In reality it was a place where he could gain sympathizers and build an army big enough to fight his brother and take over Rio Village.
After defeating his two brothers, Medra became king and thus started the Golden Age for the Neomen. Zandorf had been a powerful wizard and king, but even had had his shortcomings. Medra intended to make Rio Village a haven for Neomen to leave in peace. He tried to unite many factions of Neomen who had lived elsewhere, and many returned to the city.
Unfortunately, as much as the Neomen had had success under the rule of Medra, the Forest Elves still continued to steal from them. Medra waged war with them and for the next twelve years, enlisted many men for the war effort. He was able to sign a treaty with the Seamen and even recruit some of them to help him against the Forest Elves.
Locations[]
Sylvania[]
Elvin Haven[]
The largest city of the Forest Elves. Here, thanks to the magic of the Trollites, the trees grow especially big, and most Elves live here. Surprisingly, the type of trees vary throughout the city. The "skyscrapers" in this cities are just really tall trees.
Ancient Ruins[]
Many of these ruins are spread across Sylvania and are reminders of the civilization of Trollites that once inhabited this forest. Steve encounter one of these when he crash-landed in Sylvania.
Rio Village[]
The home of the Neomen. This city is the largest city on the planet Thraxin, with almost 50,000 residents. With giant stone buildings and intricate skyscrapers, this city is a one of a kind. However, it's technology is still primitive, but as of recently, they have made important innovations. The Neomen who live in Rio Village are more advanced then the Neomen who live in other places.
The Refuge[]
After losing in a battle for the throne, Zandorf's youngest son, Galheim, left Rio Village in hopes of finding the perfect revenge on his brother Medra, who had taken the throne. He soon came across the perfect foundation for a city and set to work building The Refuge. Here he advertised was a safe haven for people who didn't want to be involved in the war. Many Neomen and Forest Elves lived here and enjoyed the freedom Galheim gave them. This was part of Galheim's plan to gain many sympathizers and build an army to overthrow Rio Village and his brother. Unfortunately for him, a certian boy named Steve discovered the conspiracy and exposed him, ending his evil plans.
Lake Mammoth[]
The largest lake in all of Thraxin. Many wars have fought on the beach and even in this lake. This lake also marks the southern territory of the Neomen of Rio Village.
Lake Shaman[]
A lake just south of The Refuge. The lake is known to have healing properties. Legend says that if someone heals from this lake too much, they will be consumed by the guardian of the lake, who resides in a cavern below the lake.
Amulet Mountains[]
A long mountain range that goes across the northern border of Mat'hu. The tallest peak on the range is home to the Pergrines on this range. This mountain range is home to the Pergrines, the Cavemen, and at the foot of the mountain live the people of The Refuge.
The Neomen have been mining in the mountains for many years, due to the rich ores buried in the caves below. Many rare minerals have been found--and even King Medra has a special necklace made from Amethite, mined in the Amulet Mountians.
The Nest[]
This was where a race of humanoid birds called Pergrines lived for many generations. The Net was located on a mountain ledge on the tallest peak of the Amulet Mountains. The Nest has gotten smaller through the years as the Pergrine population dwindles.
Cavernopolis[]
The home of the Cavemen, who fled into the mines of the Amulet Mountains, after attacks by the Pergrines. The Cavemen are expert blacksmiths, and rumors have it that they are building many weapons of war to at last get revenge on the Pergrines.
Mount Cylmin[]
The tallest peak on Mat'hu at almost 19,000 feet up. No one has every summited the mountain and lived to tell the tale. People avoid the mountain mostly, because legends say the mountain is cursed.
