Tutorial Bot was a robot, a friend of Xaq and Salman Ahmad, and a frequent player of PCGs. He also appeared to give tutorials on multiple occations.
- This article is about the meta version of Tutorial Bot that appears in skits on the PCG Youtube channel as well as Salman Ahmad's channel; not to be confused with Tutorial Bot from the PCGs.
Wait, is he a different version...?[]
Some in the PCG Community, for example Yak Games, have raised the question of whether this Tutorial Bot could just be the same as the Tutorial Bot of the main PCG Universe.
A definitive answer to this was reached in the 2018 PCG Contest video, in which Meta Tutorial Bot plays a PCG that has Tutorial Bot in it, and even had a conversation with "himself" while playing as a different character, thus confirming the two versions are separate.
History[]
Tutorial Bot was the first player of Fire n' Kill, when he was brought in to help demonstrate the game to viewers. (YouTube: "How to Make an FPS Paper Computer Game")
He wanted to play Paper Games Co.'s game, "Swamp Survival", but he couldn't because it was a single player game so there was no need for him. He did however later offer a tutorial to Xaq who needed help. (YouTube: "Let's Play Swamp Survival by Paper Games Co.")
He helped Salman Ahmad play his example game for the PCG Contest 2018 and also played Xaq's example for the same contest. He later played Day1CLUTCH's entry, also on Salman's channel. (Youtube: PCG Contest 2018 videos)
